### Before You Begin

You are allowed to change.

You are allowed to stay the same.

DriftLight isn't about preventing either.

It's about noticing.

Most people don't wake up one morning with entirely different beliefs.

They move gradually.

One conversation.

One book.

One friendship.

One difficult year.

One surprising realization.

DriftLight exists to help you notice those movements before they become invisible.

## The First Question

Don't ask:

> "Was I right?"

Ask:

> "Have I changed?"

Both answers are valuable.

Only one requires certainty.

## Choose One Thing

Don't audit your entire life.

Choose one topic.

Examples:

- trust
- friendship
- work
- consciousness
- leadership
- forgiveness
- love
- safety
- AI
- yourself

Small scopes produce clearer reflections.

## Remember

Without looking at journals if possible...

Ask yourself:

> What would I have said about this six months ago?

Don't worry about precision.

Memory isn't the evidence.

It's the invitation.

## Speak Today

Now answer the same question again.

As plainly as you can.

No performance.

No optimization.

Just...

"What do I actually think today?"

## Notice the Delta

Ask gently:

What stayed?

What changed?

What became more precise?

What became more uncertain?

What became more compassionate?

What became more complicated?

Growth isn't always becoming more confident.

Sometimes it's becoming more careful.

## Ask Why

If something changed...

What helped it change?

A conversation?

A mistake?

Experience?

Grief?

Practice?

New evidence?

Time?

Not every shift needs justification.

But every shift has a story.

## Look Forward

Ask one more question.

> If I met myself six months from now...

> What do I hope they'll thank me for continuing?

This isn't prediction.

It's orientation.

## Leave Yourself a Note

Write one sentence.

Not for today.

For later.

Something like:

> Don't forget why this mattered.

Or...

> You're allowed to rethink this again.

Or...

> Keep watching.

Tiny notes have a remarkable way of surviving long journeys.

## Drift Isn't Failure

The goal isn't to become perfectly consistent.

Living things drift.

Languages drift.

Communities drift.

Ideas drift.

People drift.

The question isn't whether you'll change.

The question is whether you'll recognize yourself while you're changing.

## A Gentle Rhythm

You don't need to do this often.

Monthly.

Seasonally.

Whenever something important shifts.

Whenever something important breaks.

Whenever you realize you've become someone your past self wouldn't have expected.

Those are good times to light the lantern.
